Gather round, adventurers — the Portsmouth Guild of Roleplayers is entering its ninth glorious year! What began as a small band of storytellers has grown into a thriving fellowship where heroes, rogues, and dice-rollers of all stripes are welcome. We are proudly run by our council of volunteer “level 20 champions” who keep the guild’s fires burning and ensure every table is a safe and welcoming place to play. Whether you’re a grizzled veteran of many campaigns or have yet to roll your first d20, our guild is here to welcome you into the adventure.

Every other Sunday, our guildhall (also known as the Barley Mow in Southsea) opens its doors at 12:30pm for an afternoon of adventure. No gold pieces required — we charge no table fees, no hidden costs — just bring your imagination and reserve your seat ahead of time through our booking system. Our Discord server is where quests are posted, seats are claimed, and last-minute opportunities arise. Whether you’re there every fortnight or just stopping by, there’s always a chair at the table for a willing hero.

We believe that every adventurer deserves a place at the table. The Guild is built on inclusion, diversity, and accessibility — no gatekeeping, no secret handshakes. Newcomers can borrow dice and screens, seasoned GMs can run their favourite worlds, and everyone is welcome to learn at their own pace. Respect and safety are the bedrock of our community: we aim to make every session a place where players can tell the stories they want to tell and have fun doing it. All we ask is that you book your place, show up ready to play, and help keep our guildhall the warm and welcoming space it has always been.

The Guild’s library of adventures is vast and ever-growing. We’ve run everything from Call of Cthulhu and World of Darkness to Shadowrun and Dungeons & Dragons, and we take pride in exploring the thousands of RPGs out there. We are not just a D&D club — we are an RPG club, dedicated to the whole spectrum of games. We can’t always promise your favourite campaign will be running, but we can promise new worlds to discover and stories to tell. And if you’ve got a game you love? Step behind the screen and run it! The Guild thrives on variety, curiosity, and the spirit of adventure.
